Many experts say to throw away your scales and just go on how your clothes fit when you get to your goal weight. This is not such a great idea as your weight can easily increase by three to four kilos if you don't monitor it. Weight management requires monitoring your results weekly whether it be on the scales or with a tape measure


 
 

 Lets say you are at your goal weight of 65 kilos and you don't weigh yourself for a month. Within that month, you have been out to dinner, to parties and have eaten bigger portions.

 

Your clothes might still fit and you are still wearing the same dress size, but your weight may have increased to 69 kilos. That is a four kilo gain in four weeks and a lot of work to get that excess weight off.

 

Imagine if you did not weigh yourself for 8 weeks and your weight kept creeping up. You are then faced with a lot of extra hard work to remove the fat and starting right back at the beginning on your weight loss plan!


Weight Management takes effort. It is much better to monitor and maintain your goal weight weekly and keep it all in balance so you do not end up where you started from.

 

Once you've reached your realistic target weight, if you go back to your old eating habits and activity levels, you'll put the weight back on. It's as simple as that. So it is important to stay focused, and monitor your weight.

Weighing yourself once a week on the same day is the best way to keep track of your weight. In other words, if you know you are going to weigh in, you are going to be "good" before doing so in order to avoid getting a disappointing result.

Don't let your weight get higher than two kilos above your goal weight
. If your goal weight is 65 kilos and you weigh in at 67 kilos, well it is time to cut back for the week! Two kilos is much easier to lose than twenty kilos!


Staying healthy and slim requires commitment, focus, will power and constant monitoring of your weight loss plan, your weight and health for life.
